Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
The short version: no ads, no trackers, no analytics SDKs, and we never sell your data. You can use Horologist without an account, and you can delete your data anytime.
Horologist is operated by [Your name / company, address]. Our server is in Nuremberg, Germany. Contact: [your-email].
What we collect
- An anonymous session. When you first open the app, we create an empty user record and a token that's stored on your device. It holds no personal details. We need it so the app works and your purchases stay linked to you.
- Google Sign-In (optional). Only needed for [feature]. If you sign in, we receive your Google account ID [and email] and attach it to your record.
- Purchases. Paid watch faces are one-time purchases through Google Play. We never see your payment details, only Google's confirmation that you bought something, so we can unlock it for you.
- Server logs. Our server logs IP addresses for security and debugging, and deletes them after 5 days. Your account ID is never logged.
- Download counts. A simple total per watch face, not tied to you.
What we don't collect
No location, contacts, or health data. The watch faces use Google's Watch Face Format, which can't track you or connect to the internet, and the Wear OS app only passes watch faces from your phone to your watch.
Who else is involved
Google (Play, and Sign-In if you use it) and Netcup, which hosts our server in Nuremberg. Their own privacy policies apply to what they do. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account record as long as you use Horologist, so you can restore your purchases. Anonymous sessions with no activity for a year are deleted automatically. You can delete your account in the app or on our website, which removes your data (except records we're legally required to keep, such as purchase records).
Your rights
If you're in the EU/EEA, you can ask us to show, correct, export, or delete your data, or to restrict or stop processing it, and you can withdraw consent for Google Sign-In anytime. Email [your-email]. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We process data to provide the service (contract), keep it secure (legitimate interest), and, for Google Sign-In, with your consent.
Children
Horologist isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above.
